Job Description

Our client, a well-established UK accountancy practice, is looking for an experienced Corporate & Personal Tax Associate to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid UK tax experience who enjoys working across both corporate and personal tax matters while supporting a varied portfolio of UK SME clients.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a UK accountancy practice and be confident preparing UK corporation tax and personal tax returns, liaising with clients, and ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit UK Corporation Tax computations and CT600 returns.
Prepare and submit UK Self Assessment (SA100) tax returns.
Prepare Capital Gains Tax calculations where applicable.
Prepare P11D benefits-in-kind returns.
Calculate corporation tax provisions and deferred tax.
Review client financial information to identify tax planning opportunities.
Assist with tax planning assignments for owner-managed businesses and individuals.
Respond to HMRC correspondence and resolve tax-related queries.
Liaise directly with clients to obtain outstanding tax information.
Maintain accurate working papers and supporting documentation.
Monitor HMRC filing deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
Support senior managers with more complex tax matters.
Stay up to date with changes in UK tax legislation.
Contribute to improving internal tax processes and efficiencies.

Required Skills

Minimum 3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
Demonstrable experience preparing UK Corporation Tax returns (CT600).
Demonstrable experience preparing UK Self Assessment (SA100) returns.
Strong understanding of UK Corporation Tax legislation.
Good knowledge of UK Personal Tax.
Experience preparing Capital Gains Tax calculations.
Experience with P11D benefits reporting.
Understanding of corporation tax provisions and deferred tax.
Experience communicating directly with UK clients.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
