Responsibilities
- ✓Manage a portfolio of UK-based and international clients
- ✓Prepare and review monthly management accounts
- ✓Handle UK VAT returns (including complex VAT scenarios)
- ✓Prepare and review corporation tax returns (CT600)
- ✓Prepare self-assessment tax returns, including expatriate clients
- ✓Advise clients on UK tax compliance and VAT regulations
- ✓Support expat tax matters (residency, double taxation, cross-border issues)
- ✓Liaise with clients, HMRC, and internal stakeholders
- ✓Review junior team members’ work and provide guidance
- ✓Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations
- ✓Assist with year-end accounts and audit preparation

Required Skills
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in an accounting practice or similar environment
- Proven experience working with UK clients
- Strong knowledge of:
- UK VAT (including partial exemption, reverse charge, etc.)
- UK corporation tax
- Self-assessment tax
- Experience handling expatriate tax matters is essential
- Experience managing multiple client portfolio
- Relevant accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent)
- Additional UK tax qualification (advantageous but not essential)
- Candidates must have hands-on experience with: Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage (Sage Business Cloud / Sage 50), Dext / Receipt Bank, Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
- Experience with UK tax software (e.g. IRIS, TaxCalc, BTCSoftware) is highly advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Client-focused with a proactive approach
