Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Administrator with strong Power BI and accounting systems knowledge to support the day-to-day financial administration of the business while helping improve the way financial data is captured, integrated, analysed and reported.

This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting professional who is comfortable working with financial systems and spreadsheets and has an interest in Power BI, data analysis and systems implementation.

The successful candidate will work with information from Xero, CCH and other accounting systems, helping to ensure accurate financial data and turning that information into meaningful management insights and reports.

Responsibilities

Accounts Administration
Maintain accurate financial and accounting records.
Process invoices, payments, receipts and other accounting transactions.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable administration.
Perform bank and account reconciliations.
Maintain accurate customer and supplier information.
Assist with month-end financial administration and reporting.
Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting data issues.
Ensure financial information is captured accurately and timeously.
2. Power BI & Financial Reporting
Assist with the development and maintenance of Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reports.
Extract, transform and analyse financial information for reporting purposes.
Help bring together financial data from Xero, CCH and other systems into Power BI.
Support the creation of meaningful financial and operational insights.
Assist with developing automated and recurring management reports.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency and visibility.
Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into useful dashboards.
3. Accounting Systems & Data Integration
Work with accounting and financial systems to ensure data is accurate, complete and consistent.
Assist with the implementation and optimisation of financial reporting processes.
Support the integration of information from different accounting platforms.
Identify data gaps, inconsistencies and system issues.
Assist with testing and validating data between source systems and Power BI.
Help document reporting processes and system workflows.
4. Financial Data Analysis & Insights
Analyse financial information and identify trends, variances and anomalies.
Prepare financial reports and management information.
Assist management in understanding key financial performance indicators.
Develop reports that provide ongoing visibility into financial performance.
Use data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and financial control.

Required Skills

Previous experience in Accounts Administration, Finance Administration, Bookkeeping or a similar accounting role.
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Practical experience with accounting software, preferably Xero.
Experience working with Microsoft Power BI or a strong understanding of Power BI reporting and dashboards.
Experience working with CCH or similar accounting/practice management systems would be highly advantageous.
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
Ability to work with data from multiple systems and identify inconsistencies.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to understand both the financial and technical aspects of reporting.
Comfortable learning new systems and supporting system implementation projects.
