About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to oversee health, safety and environmental compliance across large-scale energy, infrastructure and mining projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing HSE policies, identifying and mitigating operational risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout project development and execution.

This role requires a hands-on professional with experience in project environments, strong risk-management capabilities and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Safety Management or a related discipline.
At least 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in energy, infrastructure, construction, mining or industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and environmental compliance requirements.
Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident investigations.
Knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).
Experience developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures and management plans.
Excellent report-writing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and engage effectively with project teams.
Advantageous Experience
Experience in renewable energy, particularly solar PV projects.
Exposure to large-scale construction, engineering or infrastructure development.
Knowledge of contractor HSE management and construction safety.
Experience with international HSE standards and client-specific compliance requirements.
Relevant professional registration or certifications, where applicable.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and management systems.
Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health, safety and environmental legislation and industry standards.
Conduct HSE risk assessments, site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
Identify potential workplace hazards and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements.
Develop and deliver safety training, inductions and awareness programmes.
Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Prepare HSE reports, performance metrics and compliance documentation for management and project stakeholders.
Support project planning and execution by integrating HSE requirements into operational processes.
Monitor environmental risks, including waste management, pollution prevention and responsible resource use.
Coordinate emergency preparedness plans and ensure appropriate emergency response procedures are in place.
