Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technology strategy for a rapidly growing healthcare organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation, overseeing software development, ensuring cybersecurity and compliance, and building scalable technology solutions that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

This is a strategic leadership role requiring a strong balance of technical expertise, commercial thinking, and people leadership.

Responsibilities

Technology Strategy
Develop and execute the company's long-term technology roadmap.
Align technology initiatives with business objectives and healthcare regulations.
Identify emerging technologies that can enhance healthcare delivery and operational efficiency.
Advise executive leadership on technology investments and innovation opportunities.
Leadership & Team Management
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering and IT teams.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and vendor relationships.
Recruit and retain top technology talent.
Software Development
Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of healthcare software platforms.
Ensure products are scalable, secure, reliable, and user-focused.
Implement Agile development methodologies and DevOps best practices.
Drive continuous product improvement through data and user feedback.
Infrastructure & Cloud
Lead cloud infrastructure strategy (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Ensure high system availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Optimise infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards.
Implement cybersecurity frameworks and risk management processes.
Maintain policies for secure handling of patient information.
Oversee audits, penetration testing, and security monitoring.
Healthcare Technology
Lead integration with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems.
Support interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR.
Evaluate and implement AI, automation, and analytics within healthcare workflows.
Ensure technology enhances patient care and clinical operations.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate closely with executives, clinical teams, product managers, and external partners.
Present technology strategy and performance to senior leadership and investors.
Build relationships with technology vendors and healthcare partners.

Required Skills

Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
MBA is advantageous.
Experience
10+ years' experience in software engineering or technology leadership.
5+ years in a senior technology leadership role (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Technology, or similar).
Experience within healthcare, digital health, medical software, or health-tech environments.
Proven experience scaling technology teams and cloud platforms.

Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
